Many people ask what it’s like to work in a bridal boutique. Here is a sneak peek into our studio, I will share with you a little bit about our brides, the design process and our wonderful professional team.
We are based in the heart of Tel-Aviv in the middle of all the action. Nonetheless our boutique has a small intimate vibe with the beach just around the corner. It is very essential that the atmosphere in the store signifies a sense of calmness and trust to give our brides a place of confidence so that at least one aspect of the wedding preparation is at ease.
One of our favorite parts of working at the bridal store is helping our new brides find the perfect dress, developing the trust of the bride to be is extremely rewarding and something we find highly important. It is very common to come to the first meeting with your mum, sister or friends. Occasionally we get to meet the fiancé that wants to be involved and the bride wants to make sure that he likes the dress. Trying on dresses is quite an experience, however, we do recommend bringing someone whose opinion, style and taste you trust.
Many Brides come with an idea of what they want, or have a clear vision of the style they are looking for. However you may be surprised that most girls change their mind and choose a dress they originally didn’t even want to try on or didn’t even consider. That is one of the most fun aspects, you never really know what style or silhouette will suit you until you try it on.
We have a mix of designers, needle workers patternmakers and seamstresses. Each member of our team has an extremely valuable role and will eventually touch a part of your wedding dress. After you pick your dress it will start with the patternmaker who will cut out the fabric or lace for the seamstresses to sew together. Throughout the course it will make its way to the needle workers who will embellish the gown.
Designing a new collection is always exciting. The design process starts with finding a source of inspiration, we collect this information from many different places: Books, the Internet, movies, art etc. Once we have decided on the theme of the collection Limor and the designers will start to sketch, drape and search for new fabrics and textiles. During that process the designers will work closely with the patternmaker and discuss it technically to see if it’s even realistic or just something that is only in our dreams. Making a collection can take up to three to four months. Once the collection is ready and has been photographed it will arrive in our store for our brides to try on.
Over the past year our studio and designs have branched out all over the world from England to Germany, U.S.A, to Canada, and even Australia and China. We love to see pictures and hear feedback from all of the brides who have worn our gowns. It’s thrilling to see someone from the other side of the world wearing one of our dresses. It’s a feeling that can’t be described with words.
With that in mind there is nothing that can compare with having that intimate moment with a bride and going through all the emotions and excitement. From the very first meeting, through all the fittings, until the day our bride picks up her dress. So if you ever find yourself in Tel-Aviv and you’re a bride to be or former customer pop in to say hi and see for yourself what it’s like to work at a bridal boutique.
We are looking forward to your visit.
